The Role and Department
The Computing and Information Services Department (CIS) has an annual operational budget in the order of £10m, multi-million-pound programmes of change within year, and approximately 140 staff. CIS provides academic, teaching and administrative services across the organisation that underpin the day-to-day activities of the whole organisation. CIS is a friendly, but demanding department, where much is expected and can be achieved by competent, self-motivated individuals who are demonstrable in their teamwork ability. This is an exciting time to join CIS as are in the early stages of setting up a Management Information Hub to transform the way that we govern and utilise our data. This role will play an important part in this developing service, by supporting and developing the data warehouse and business intelligence products, using Microsoft tools and technologies such as Azure and Power BI to meet stakeholder requirements and significantly improve the University’s capability to maximise the value of our data. Flexible working arrangements are available.
