This is an exciting opportunity to join our Marketing team within our Marketing and Student Recruitment department, part of the University’s Communications and External Relations section. The post holder will also work closely with colleagues from the Edge Hotel School, an academic department of the University of Essex.
Communications and External Relations brings together the main areas involved in leading the University's student recruitment as well as strategic positioning and profile. Engaging with students, staff and stakeholders, we promote the University's excellence in research and education, and ensure its profile is communicated in a consistent way. We take an innovative and creative approach to our work and are at the forefront of new and best practice in communications, recruitment and marketing, engagement and customer service.
Duties of the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of marketing and recruitment activity for the Edge Hotel School, an academic department of the University of Essex offering degrees in hotel, hospitality and events management.
Duties will involve establishing marketing campaigns and content across multiple marketing channels, including social media, digital, email and events. This role will also involve attending recruitment-focussed events at schools and colleges within the UK and managing ongoing relationships with careers advisors & teachers.
The post holder will be required to work some weekends and evenings.
Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational and public speaking skills, with experience of delivering high levels of creativity in a marketing context. They will be motivated and proactive, with an ability to work flexibly on their own initiative and to deadlines. This role requires both team and independent working and therefore the successful candidate will demonstrate autonomy and interpersonal skills.
The post holder will hold a degree or equivalent level qualification or experience, as well as an interest in, and knowledge of, the higher education sector.
