The Admissions office is currently operating a hybrid approach to work with a combination of office and home-based working; currently working on campus one day a week, and moving to two days a week from February 2023, however, the expectation is that you can regularly work in the office as required.
Some occasional weekend work is required to support key admissions activities including Confirmation and Clearing and Open Days.
The role
We are seeking to appoint a highly organised, experienced person to lead the Postgraduate Admissions Team in providing a responsive, effective, and efficient admissions service, to meet and exceed the expectations of applicants and client Faculties within the University and in pursuit of the University’s Internationalisation Strategy.
To be successful in this role, you will need excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage and prioritise own workload and oversee the organisation of others. Strong preference will be given to those who have prior experience of managing people and processes. Ideally, we would prefer someone who has an experience of large database systems and the ability to follow a complex set of procedures. An understanding of admissions processes, with some knowledge of either UK or international qualifications would be an advantage. In addition, you will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with colleagues and applicants.
Admissions
The Admissions Department is a busy dynamic team, dealing with over 65,000 applications a year across Undergraduate and Postgraduate provision. Admissions deal with a large volume of enquiries via telephone, email and face to face focusing on providing an excellent service to our applicants and pre-applicants.
