We are looking for a skilled new team member to learn, innovate and bring fresh ideas to the Systems Team. They should be eager to learn and develop new skills to help Brookes in its journey to transform its Hosting environment. This is a unique opportunity to help design and build the future Hosting infrastructure of Oxford Brookes University.
As Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for taking a leading role in developing and integrating the current mix of core IT Services infrastructure hosted both on-premise and in the cloud. We are at the beginning of a major transformational project to shift from our current Hosting arrangement of hundreds of virtual servers in our own data centres to move towards predominantly cloud based platforms. This will blend an array of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS offerings with the services that need to remain on-premise. You will be instrumental in this journey along with developing the cloud infrastructure for new services, including application delivery control and zero trust security by policy.
You will have substantial experience of developing and implementing technical enterprise infrastructure in support of IT systems delivery utilising physical, virtual and public cloud resources.
IT Services at Oxford Brookes University is a modern, service-oriented environment that is constantly embracing change. You will be joining the team at an exciting time and will be contributing to the IT Architecture Programme which aims to transform university life through the use of digital technologies and services, as well as delivering excellent customer service. In return you will be provided with development opportunities both professionally and personally that will enable you to continue to enhance your skills and knowledge.
We are happy to explore options around hybrid working as our team is based on the Headington Campus in Oxford. We can find the right balance spending time remotely and together on premise to fully engage with the team and the colleagues we work closely with.
The University has adopted equity, diversity and inclusion as core values.
