We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Senior Finance and Purchasing Officer to join the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, within the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences at the University of Oxford.
This role is central in ensuring that researchers at the Kennedy Institute are supported with timely and accurate ordering of consumables and equipment while ensuring compliance with university regulations and tax legislation.
You will manage all purchasing operations in the Kennedy Institute to ensure the timely and accurate processing and approval of purchase orders in the Oracle Financials R12 system in accordance with the University and external financial regulations. You will line manage the purchasing team comprising of two purchasing assistants and an apprentice, you will also maintain good working relationships with key suppliers and the University's central finance office and be proactive in resolving issues.
You will be educated to A-level standard (or equivalent experience), including Maths and have previous accounts experience in a finance role as well as experience of line management. You must have good attention to detail; be able to provide accurate information and work with detailed numerical and financial data and have excellent IT skills; good working knowledge of Excel; databases; web-browsing skills and the ability to learn new applications.
Experience of financial administration or accounts work within the University is desirable.
This is a full time, permanent position.
