You will join as an Assistant Professor. This is an exciting campaign to kick off in late 2022 and into 2023. About our Team
The Marketing Subject Group is ranked at number 5 in the UK according to The Complete University Marketing Subject League Table 2022. The Marketing Subject Group is one of seven subject groups within the Edinburgh Business School (EBS) and has staff located at three campuses who deliver undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, which include an MA in Marketing and MSc Programmes in Digital Marketing, International Marketing, and International Marketing with Consumer Psychology. These programmes are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
We are seeking to recruit a marketing academic with experience of teaching and research (T&R). As a Grade 8 assistant professor you will need to demonstrate a consistent publication record in high quality journals, have successfully been involved in PhD supervision and have experience of applying for grant funding. You will also have experience of leading courses and programmes. We are particularly interested in candidates who have an interest in digital marketing and/or sustainable marketing.
As part of an international team, you will be able to build strong links with colleagues in Dubai and Malaysia to deliver high quality teaching and learning outcomes. You will contribute to the development of courses and programmes by innovating in teaching delivery, engaging in faculty administrative roles, and building links with practitioners. In addition, you are expected to and encouraged to develop your research publications and apply for grant funding supported by participation in one of the four SOSS Research Centres.
The role will be based at the University's campus in Edinburgh. Programmes will be delivered in English and so fluency in English is essential. An induction programme will be delivered to all new academic staff on Heriot-Watt's standards and values, and to give practical experience on preparation, delivery, and assessment of teaching.
