Job description
This exciting role is based at the Strand Campus, covering all Campus locations across London, with occasional travel to Slough, Leeds and Cornwall. The role is for a Technical Spaces Campus (Lead) position, reporting directly to the Technical Spaces Manager, working as part of the IT Technical Spaces team.
You will be required to assist and oversee the IT Technical Spaces team BAU workload, assisting with team task alignment, mentoring and team development.
You will be responsible for all BAU related activities (Service Requests, Incidents, Change Requests and Problem ticket management) as well as assisting in the successful delivery of all related Project work, where there is a requirement for IT Technical Spaces resource.
You will be managing any physical access requirements across campus Technical Spaces environments, ensuring that safe working of teams within the Technical Space is managed from a H&S aspect and that house-keeping / maintenance within our environments are maintained, operational and fit-for purpose.
You will assist in house-keeping reviews, schedules and monitoring of our Technical Space environments – this to assist and manage any miss-use of our said communication room space.
You will be responsible for related support criteria and the liaison with our incumbent cabling teams, King’s E&F teams or 3rd party providers and to assist with associated environmental services (UPS, Cooling, Patching, Room Management, Access, Asset Inventory and documentational updates.
You will also be required to assist in the management of deliverable assets within both running (Hot spares) and project store environments. Collation and bar code inventories to be maintained and managed.
You may be required to provide 24/7/365 support, on a weekly rota basis and utilise resources from other teams / providers where necessary.
Whilst some IT services are transitioning to Cornwall, we need to provide a robust, consistent and local service in London, so we’re looking for skilled and independent individuals to become part of this new, challenging and rewarding environment.
This post will be offered on a full-time, indefinite contract.
