Job Description

The Department of Research, Business & Innovation (RBI) offers a range of support services to research active staff and is also the gateway for industry and other external organisations to discover more about the wealth of knowledge exchange opportunities offered by Aberystwyth University, and how business and academia can work together.
RBI manages a portfolio of programs to deliver on key institutional strategies across the university.
RBI are recruiting a Commercialisation Officer in the Department of Research, Business and Innovation (RBI) that will be responsible for:
The successful applicant will demonstrate an understanding of IP and the technical and practical aspects of technology transfer and associated contractual issues. They should demonstrate a continued desire and ability to expand knowledge to encompass new analytical and technological developments associated with this function. The successful candidate will have the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and specialists, possess high-level financial and administrative skills, and a willingness to work as part of a larger team.
Candidates should be highly organised and able to work with minimal supervision; committed to learning new tasks and developing skills; be self-motivated; an excellent team player with good communication skills and have the ability to prioritise work in a busy and demanding work environment.
