About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to help us develop our core Library digital services for the institution and our wider community. This role will be responsible for our Library Services Platform and integrated systems, providing specialist expertise for the discovery and usage of our learning, teaching and research resources via a range of applications.
The post holder will take the lead on a variety of projects, under the leadership of the Head of Resources. They will work closely with the Managers for Digital Services, Content Services, and Collections Development to ensure the Library’s collections of all formats are discoverable, accessible and relevant for our users. In a friendly and supportive environment they will shape our future services fit for a community of Citizens of Change.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with systems and people alike. You may be looking for new challenges, the opportunity to build on your knowledge and skills, or to take the lead in the development projects. You may already have experience as a library systems administrator, or a solid understanding of library content, collections, library metadata and exchange protocols, and authentication methods, or are simply looking to develop your career in Libraries.
As the ideal applicant, you will be educated to graduate level and have demonstrable knowledge of the information and support needs of students and staff in an educational setting. Familiarity with multiple systems and their integrations (e.g. for user identification, content and metadata suppliers, reading lists, access control, self-service, institutional repository) will be a definite advantage.
Informal enquiries are very welcome – please contact Esther Arens, Head of Resources at the University Library firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications for job share will be considered.
We anticipate that interviews will take place between 1 and 3 March 2023
