This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Roslin Institute as a Core Scientist in quantitative epidemiology.  The job holder will provide operational and administrative support to the management of the One Health FIELD Network. They will also be responsible for horizon scanning funding opportunities, co-developing grant proposals and addressing any finance enquiries related to research projects.

This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. 

The Opportunity:

The job holder will work to coordinate efficient, effective, cohesive and productive performance and collaboration among the One Health FIELD team, between the team and their stakeholders and between the team and other relevant research initiatives within the University. They will also contribute to the wider research and other activities within the assigned research group, and the wider Roslin institute, by co-supervising students and other post-docs, contributing to teaching and public engagement activities, presenting at workshops and conferences. 

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • A high degree of computer literacy, with experience of the Microsoft Office package, website development & management and use of social media to promote work activity.
  • Knowledge of, and familiarity with One Health and food security programmes and policies.
  • Ability and interest in learning and applying new qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary project team and presenting technical methods and results to non-quantitative audiences.
  • Ability and willingness to actively contribute to regular physical and virtual international project meetings and conferences, including projects in the Middle East and SE Asia.
