This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years with possible extension for a further year, subject to funding.

The Department of Government is seeking to appoint an LSE Fellow to contribute to Departmental teaching with a particular focus on Public Policy and Administration, to commence on 2nd September 2024. The post-holder will contribute to both the Department’s teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate) and to research activities in the field of public policy and administration.

An LSE Fellow is a career development post which allows aspiring academics who are post PhD, or close to PhD completion, the opportunity to gain experience in teaching and research. The post-holders will join LSE’s world-leading and vibrant research community in the social sciences.

The appointed candidate will contribute to teaching on GV483 Public Management Theory and Doctrine, GV488 Law and Politics of Regulation, and GV4E9 Approaches and Issues in Public Policy and Administration, and/or to other public policy-related undergraduate and post-graduate courses in the Department.

Candidates will have completed or be close to completing a PhD in Political Science, Public Policy, or Public Administration by 2nd September 2024. They will also have a developing research record in Public Policy and/or Public Administration, with clear potential to publish in highly regarded journals in one of these fields. They will possess a very good knowledge of Public Policy and/or Public Administration; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work in close partnership with fellow teachers and to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment; and a commitment to equality and diversity. Relevant experience in teaching, managing courses, and mentoring students, are desirable.
