The Opportunity:

The Ophthalmology Service was launched in November 2019 and has grown rapidly to have a busy caseload. We are looking for a colleague to join us at this exciting time of continued growth. As well as a busy dog and cat caseload, the hospital sees many exotic species, and with the equine and farm animal departments on campus, there is excellent opportunity for a broad clinical case load.

A successful candidate would be expected to perform clinical work, help teach the next generation of veterinary surgeons and undertake high quality research. The exact balance of work between these three key areas is highly flexible, allowing the successful candidate to focus on, and achieve excellence in, areas they find most rewarding.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week).

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • RCVS registered or eligible at time of appointment.
  • ACVO/ECVO Diploma in Veterinary Ophthalmology or eligible at time of appointment.
  • Appropriate English language qualifications where applicable.
  • Dedicated to teaching the next generation of veterinary surgeons.

Informal enquiries should be directed to Ben Blacklock (Head of Ophthalmology) email: ben.blacklock@ed.ac.uk
