London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Library, IT and Student Life Advisor within our Library, Skills, and Customer Service Department.

The role is a full time, fixed-term, two-year contract, with the possibility to become permanent. You will be based at our Southwark Campus working primarily from the LSBU student Hub building, though there will be some opportunity for home working as part of the post.

At the Hub we support students with IT enquiries; provide a range of Library and Learning resources facilities to students and staff; and are the first line of support for a range of other Student service enquiries.

Your role would be to:

  • Provide frontline customer service primarily answering by phone on our busy customer enquiry lines, but also contributing to online support.
  • Answering first line enquiries on a range of student issues such as disability support, accommodation, finance, wellbeing, skills for learning and international student advice along with course enquiries from prospective students.
  • Troubleshooting IT enquiries.
  • Answering library resource information and search enquiries.

About You:

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Experience of providing a high level of customer service and excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to deal sensitively with enquires from a diverse range of individuals, and de-escalate and manage potentially difficult or conflict situations calmly and with confidence.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and electronic.
  • Experience and confidence with a range of IT applications including a knowledge of modern technologies and platforms, and use of mobile devices.
