Applications are invited for a three-year PhD studentship. The studentship will start on January 2024 .
The successful applicant will be part of a lively and active community of PhD students and academic staff. We consider doctoral students to be junior academics or researchers, and an integral part of the Department. PhD students will have access to a well-equipped working space.
Project themes
Research in the department covers a wide range of topics in areas such as comparative politics, international studies, and parties and elections among other.

It is essential that candidates discuss their proposal/plans with their intended supervisor(s), prior to writing their proposal and submitting an application. The department can only consider proposals in areas in which we have expertise to supervise a topic.

You will need to meet the minimum entry requirements for our PhD programme.
First-class degree or high upper second degree/or equivalent or distinction in Masters. For non-UK based courses an English requirement of 6.5 or above (or equivalent) with 6.0 in each individual category.
