Finance Systems Manager

This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended. Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Systems Manager to join the University’s Finance Office on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of comprehensive and customer-focused systems support and development services for our central finance system.

The primary Finance system currently used at the University is Agresso ERP, which is a fully integrated finance system with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Sales, Stock, Project Accounting, Fixed Assets, Bank Reconciliation and Research Costing and Pricing.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Systems Support and Development: Management of all aspects of the system development cycle within Agresso, including leading on the implementation of system enhancements and upgrades. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of the accounting structure in order to facilitate the provision of financial management information and reporting, as well as the development and maintenance of system and process documentation.
• Project Management: Planning, implementation and management of major systems development projects, working closely with internal stakeholders across the University to ensure that customer requirements are delivered. The planning horizon can range from several months to more than 1 year and will have knock on impact on other university system interfaces (eg HR/ Payroll).This will also include oversight of month end and year end routines and processes.
• Team Management: You will have management responsibility for the Systems team, and will ensure that your team are trained, motivated and developed in their roles, ensuring that skills and knowledge are maintained in line with best practice.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in a Systems Accounting / Systems Management role with previous experience of leading and managing a team, and experience working with Unit4 ERP (Agresso).

Major systems change, implementation and management experience is essential, as well as project management skills.
