The City-Region Economic Development Institute (City-REDI) is recruiting a Senior Economic Analyst - Business Case Projects Lead who will be based at the Birmingham Business School to support economic analysis activities. City-REDI is an evidence-based and policy-focused academic research institute focusing on finding solutions to place-based inclusive economic, social, and environmental development. We work in partnership with people and places to facilitate local, regional, and responsible growth for the benefit of all. You would be joining an inter-disciplinary team including academics and consultancy services staff with a place-based approach to inclusive economic growth. The post will lead business case development activities and support wider research, evaluation and appraisal of economic interventions and programmes to support socially inclusive economic growth, innovation, development of new industrial clusters, enterprise, employment, and skills.
City-REDI in the College of Social Sciences is seeking to recruit a Senior Economic Analyst – with a focus on Business Case Design and Development, with particular expertise in relation to the efficacy and assessment of evidence for the development of business cases that will support securing funding for strategic investments by the university and its partners and as a service we can offer externally.
Role Summary
The post holder will be part of City-REDI, which is the Business School team delivering a wide range of research and consultancy services, local authorities and the Combined Authority working together to develop policies and programmes to support inclusive growth with the region. The successful candidate will be expected to have experience of developing business cases, evidence on economic impact and monitoring local economies.

The Senior Economic Analyst will contribute at a senior level on a sustained basis across the whole of City-REDI’s range of research, teaching and public engagement activities Research duties will include pursuing sustained policy-oriented research activity across City-REDI themes and future project development through original research, scholarship, and rigorous reflection-on-practice including:
