About the Role:
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In Education these include the PGCert, MA Education, MBA, PGCE, as well as doctoral level studies. Our undergraduate provision includes Working with Children, Families and Communities, Early Childhood Studies, Montessori and Primary Education Studies. Following our successful accreditation from the Department of Education, we will be delivering courses that award Qualified Teacher Status from September 2024.
We’re seeking to recruit an experienced school teacher to join us part time as a Senior Lecturer Practitioner. Maintaining currency in practice alongside an academic role, you will bridge the gap between theory and practice for the next generation of teachers in the East of England. You will have strong primary curriculum subject knowledge and Phonics, SEND or EAL as a specialism. In this role you will teach on the new BEd Primary Education with QTS course across our Cambridge and Peterborough campuses, upskill as a mentor under the new requirements for ITT and support school-based training for trainees. We are looking for you join us for 4 days a week (Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs) from January 2025.
With a degree or relevant professional qualification and extensive post qualification CPD and/or a higher degree, you’ll have appropriate school-based experience including working with trainees and ECTs.
