The Department of Art and Media Technology at the Winchester School of Art invites applications for an artist in residence, aimed at mid-career game designers / artists with a national/international reputation whose practice reflects the ethos of the programme and department around games for good and games as agents of change. With access to world-class facilities including expansive studios and workshops, you will be well placed for exciting professional development.
Our welcoming department includes staff and students working in complementary programmes including Fine Art, Global Media, Contemporary Curating, and Arts and Cultural Leadership. The School, which recently celebrated its sesquicentennial, is part of the University of Southampton, and includes world-class departments of Design and Fashion and Textiles as well as Art and Media Technology. The person who fills this post would likewise be encouraged to forge connections across the University.

About the role
We seek candidates with a passion for teaching and a strong professional network in and/or beyond the UK, who are excited about the opportunity to join a vibrant community of students and practitioners, working on the teaching activities of the games design students, and developing a research- and/or teaching-led exhibition in Summer/ Autumn 2025.
