About the Role
We are seeking 2 Assessors for Motor vehicles—L2 Autocare & L3 Service & Repair roles within our apprenticeship team with the School of Sustainable Technologies and Motor Vehicles. Ideally, this will incorporate most of the assessing in the workplace with teaching within the college workshops.
The job role will be geared around supporting Level 3 apprentices undertaking the Motor Vehicle AutoCare apprenticeship. The assessor is expected to visit local companies in the West Yorkshire region, share their knowledge and experience with apprentices, and train them to meet the Knowledge, Skills, and behaviours related to the apprenticeship standard.
The teaching element will be based on two full days per week, 50% in the workshop and 50% in classroom theory. It will cover all aspects of motor vehicle repairs at Level 2 and Level 3 in preparation for the End-Point Assessments.
Safety compliance is paramount, along with the ability to communicate well with employers, promoting a positive insight into Leeds City College. Working with young people can be very rewarding, and the appointed person will have an ability to give lots of positive feedback, which will encourages our apprentices to achieve the recognition they deserve.
Assessing apprentices in the workplace will form a further 2-3 days of the job role, ensuring students are gaining the required skills to meet the standard.
Leeds City College extensively uses the OneFile E-portfolio system, so experience working with OneFile or a similar E-portfolio would be an advantage. This system logs all apprentice progress and achievements, so the suitable candidate will need to plan regular visits and write detailed progress reviews for each apprentice.
