This role forms a key part of BBSRC’s central Policy team, which sits within BBSRC’s Strategic Planning, Evidence & Evaluation (SPEE) domain. This domain encompasses BBSRC-wide strategic planning, including oversight for developing BBSRC’s Delivery Plan and input into Government Spending Reviews; analysing, evaluating and providing evidence of the impact arising from BBSRC’s portfolio of investments; non-operational policy related to bioscience; parliamentary business; leading on strategic engagement with BBSRC’s broad range of stakeholders (research organisations, government, businesses and the public) including a cohort of strategic partner universities.
Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Policy, you will support the day-to-day functions of the Policy team, providing intelligence, analysis, advice and assistance, including support for cross-cutting bioscience-relevant policies managed by the team.
This role includes the business-critical function of coordinating inputs for external consultations and parliamentary Select Committee Inquiries, as well as various other information and briefing requests to BBSRC, and analysing outcomes from such activities, as well as the wider policy environment in which BBSRC operates. You will also undertake other domain and office-wide responsibilities as required. This role will involve some UK travel, including very occasional overnight absences.
