About the role
The Centre for Languages Culture and Communication at Imperial College is looking for a teaching practitioner to lead our Music Technology courses for learners on our evening class programme. As Teaching Fellow in Music Technology, you will design and deliver an innovative and engaging course, which should cover a variety of different approaches to music technology, including music programming using freely available software (e.g. Reaper); basic audio recording and editing; sampling and sound synthesis; song-writing tips; mixing down. The class will introduce beginner learners to various technologies.
What you would be doing
In this role you will devise, deliver, and facilitate exemplary teaching including synchronous or asynchronous online learning sessions, face-to-face learning sessions, supported by relevant digital tools. You will deliver classes which reflect the wide range of experiences of adult learners, including interactive and inclusive activities designed to maintain high levels of learner interest and motivation.

You will deliver a highly interactive course, with an emphasis on the use of group work, discussions, multimedia, and other diverse forms of delivery rather than traditional lectures. Hands-on practical workshops will be your primary teaching method, making use of the CLCC’s computer base.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an individual with proven competence in teaching of music technology in the adult education of higher education sectors. You will have experience of course design and familiarity with a variety of learner-centred strategies to promote effective teaching. To be successful in this post, you will be able to work flexibly as part of a team in an open-minded and cooperative manner, with strong communication and organisational skills. This position will suit an individual with a high level of competency and in digital learning technologies and music technology software, with an understanding of the needs of lifelong learners.
