About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Programme Manager with an interest and experience in infectious diseases research and vaccine development to work with Prof Chris Chiu to oversee the scientific management and administration of the Imperial-led “MusICC Consortium”. MusICC is a new $57M global vaccine development initiative co-funded by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and the EU Horizon Europe Programme.
This programme brings together international research institutions from Europe, USA and Australasia, industry and Contract Research Organisations (CROs) in a complex program designed to increase our understanding of immunity against coronaviruses, test next-generation vaccines and establish capacity in readiness for future outbreaks. Its primary focus is on the development and delivery of human infection challenge studies, in which volunteers are deliberately inoculated with human coronaviruses, to understand immunity, test next-generation vaccines and establish capacity in readiness for future outbreaks.
The post holder will provide expertise and leadership in programme and operational management in Prof Chiu’s team together with the Consortium. In this, they will be strongly supported by project and communications managers from the Imperial Research Impact Management Office (RIMO). With the support of Imperial RIMO and Prof Chiu’s team, they will coordinate the generation of technical reports and presentations to funders and others.
