About the Role
The role is a key partner and advisor in ensuring that the university’s Recognition, Reward and Benefits offer is aligned to overall strategy, external market pressures and legislative requirements. The role delivers key annual Recognition and Reward mechanisms and processes, and project manages agreed changes to the university’s Reward and Benefits offer under the leadership of the Head of Employee Benefits, Reward and Global Mobility.
The role is a key advisor to all stakeholders, including Chief Officers, Vice-Principals, senior managers, the HR leadership team, and the Professorial and Professional Grade 8 panels.
The post holder is the in-house specialist on the development and delivery of Queen Mary’s longer term recognition, reward and additional opt-in benefits, including policy, systems and analytics.
The post is based at our newly established Professional Services Building, Department W. It is a full time permanent appointment with an immediate start date. The starting salary will be Grade 6, in the range of £52,549 - £58,595 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
A temporary market supplement of up to £10,000 per annum is attached to this post, which is a separate payment in addition to the normal salary. A review of market conditions will be carried out periodically to establish if the market supplement should continue.
About You
Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification, or similarly qualified by breadth/depth of HR/managerial experience, you will have relevant experience in Reward including knowledge of developments and current challenges in Reward and Benefits. You will be able to able to engage with credibility at senior levels both in professional services and academic faculties and also have the skills/experience to lead a professional team, ensuring the team members are appropriately supported, developed and motivated to do their job.
About the Department
The role is located in the Employee Benefits, Reward, Payroll and Global Mobility team within Human Resources (HR). The HR directorate is one of the University’s central Professional Services functions, which enable and facilitate the success of our students and academics. Along with other Professional Services directorates, the HR team seeks to deliver value for money through efficiency, effectiveness, quality and professional delivery of services.
