About the Role
We are looking to appoint a Research Grants Officer to join the department’s administrative team. You will be a member of the Research Grants team that provides administrative support to researchers wishing to engage with external research funding, spanning the whole cycle from application support and approval, financial management through to grant closure.
The post will be primarily focused on the administration of grant applications and awards, which includes the costing of research projects using the costing tool, setting up awards, interpreting of the terms and conditions of a wide range of funding bodies, including the European Commission and monitoring the ongoing progress. This work demands day-to-day interaction with academic colleagues, external bodies and other administrative sections of the University.
This is a permanent full time appointment.

The Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine (NDM) is one of the largest departments of the University of Oxford and is part of the Medical Sciences Division, with responsibility for a significant part of the teaching of clinical students within the Medical School.
What We Offer
About You
You will have a good standard of education to A level or equivalent and demonstrate high level of numeracy, and attention to detail combined with the ability to work on routine matters with minimum supervision. You should have a pro-active and customer-orientated approach with the ability to support a large and complex research grants portfolio. Previous experience of working in a university environment would be advantageous, as would experience of working with computer based accounting systems within a busy office such as the Oracle Financials accounts system and X5. Appropriate training will be provided as required.
