The College of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences (CMNHS), the Institute for Clinical Trials and Insight SFI Centre for Data Analytics invite applications for the appointment of Lecturer in Applied Clinical Data Analytics.
Within the Institute for Clinical Trials is the HRB Clinical Research Facility Galway (HRB-CRFG). The HRB-CRFG was established in 2008 and provides the infrastructure, the physical space, facilities, and expertise needed to support patient-focused research studies aimed at understanding a range of diseases and bringing the research work in these areas to the patient as speedily as possible.
Insight SFI Centre for Data Analytics is one of the largest data analytics centres in Europe. It seeks to derive value from Big Data and provides innovative technology solutions for industry and society by enabling better decision-making.
The Applied Clinical Data Analytics Unit at the HRB-CRFG is responsible for the application of statistical modelling techniques by clinical and translational researchers and tasks include the preparation of grant applications, study design, statistical support and analysis. The successful candidate will play a prominent role in furthering the teaching, research, and scholarship clinical data analytics agenda of the HRB-CRFG, CMNHS and Insight SFI Centre for Data Analytics. The successful candidate will form part of a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on Applied Clinical Data Analytics, thereby contributing to the continuing evolution of the CRFG training and research agendas.
The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D in a relevant discipline, have relevant prior teaching and study methodological experience, evidence of team leadership, and a record of relevant research and publications.
The successful candidate will have a research track record in a field of relevance to applied clinical data analytics, clinical research statistics and study design. They will have a track record in generating research funding and publication and will be expected to play a prominent role in meeting the Applied Clinical Data Analytics Unit’s research agenda.

Salary: €61,758 to €98,523 p.a. (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) This appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University’s Remuneration policy.
