The primary purpose of this post is to contribute to intellectual disability teaching, research and administrative activities in the school. The successful applicant will have an established reputation in teaching and research in the field of intellectual disability and will be expected to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in this field and in the interdisciplinary curricular teaching, supervision, and mentoring.

The school requires a candidate to support and lead cutting edge research, to aid the development of curricula, advanced practice and support relationships with new and existing services provider partners. As a highly successful research team we prioritise research collaboration with people with life experience of intellectual disabilities and families, clinical partners in our linked health service providers, national and international colleagues, and industry, to identify research questions of local, national and global significance. The appointee will be able to avail of an outstanding environment for research and scholarly endeavours, will be expected to lead and contribute to the established research centers in the school in the area of intellectual disability and align with one or more of these world class research centers contributing to and promoting both the research, school and college strategies. The successful applicant will be expected to engage with new initiatives within the discipline of intellectual disability nursing, provide leadership in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the discipline of intellectual disability nursing and in the interdisciplinary curricular teaching, supervision and mentoring. This post provides an exciting opportunity to lead developments in the area of intellectual disability which are of strategic focus for the Discipline and the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Associate Professor (105B) pay scale commensurate with qualifications / experience and in line with Public Sector Pay Policy. (€88, 479 - €114,255)
