Role Description
Department and Research group
Applications are invited for a full-time postdoctoral research associate, to join the research group of Dr. Mihaela Lorger. A successful candidate will work on an MRC-funded project to elucidate the role of dendritic cells in brain metastases, with the aim to identify strategies that can potentiate the efficacy of immunotherapy in the brain. Dr. Lorger’s research group is located at the University of Leeds and at the University of York.
This project will be based in the Department of Biology at the University of York.
Role
You will pursue a project aimed at understanding how dendritic cells contribute to anti-tumour immune response and the control of tumour growth in brain metastases, including in the context of immune checkpoint blockade. To this end, you will be studying dendritic cell-dependent anti-tumour immune responses at the cellular and molecular level, integrating findings from molecular profiling, functional ex vivo assays, in vivo studies in preclinical models of brain metastases, followed by validation of findings in human brain metastases tissue.
Funding is available for up to 30 months.
