About the role
The Bartlett School of Architecture is seeking to appoint a part-time Lecturer (Teaching) position on the BSc Architecture ARB/RIBA Part 1 programme on a 0.2 FTE (design technology coordinator and tutor).
Key duties and responsibilities will be to deliver high-quality technology teaching and contribute to the coordination of the module on the designated design technology module, develop and deliver relevant teaching material, including formulating and delivering lectures, and ensure module compliance with current ARB/RIBA Part 1 criteria. The lectures address basic considerations and approaches relating to architectural structures, construction, and sustainability in the built environment. This will be at a suitable level for Year 2 Architecture students. Additionally, to participate in marking and moderation of coursework, examination boards, staff away days and training. Lastly, to act responsibly ensuring they understand and comply with UCL rules and guidelines regarding all interactions with all UCL staff and students.
We are looking for experienced tutors with a proven design technology teaching record.

About you
The successful candidate will co-coordinate the Year 2 Design Technology module and teach at the highest level. They should provide proof of their experience instructing design technology to undergraduate architecture students, with an emphasis on promoting innovative teaching strategies that have improved student learning.
Applicants should specifically demonstrate experience in teaching fundamental structural knowledge, principles, loads, strategies and different forms of construction. They should also demonstrate understanding and / or knowledge of social and environmental justice and sustainability principles and their application to the design of buildings.
