The Department of Sociology at LSE seeks to hire an outstanding Assistant Professor in quantitative methods who also has expertise in economic sociology broadly defined to add to our internationally renowned innovative and publicly engaged faculty. Expertise and research interests in the sociology of work, organisations or employment, and/or digital or platform economies is desirable, as is evidence of innovation in research and research methodology.
The post holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing outstanding quality research, engaging in high-quality teaching as instructed by the Head of Department and participating in the School and wider Department activities.
Candidates should have a completed PhD in Sociology or closely related social science discipline by the start date of the post. The ability to teach economic sociology and quantitative methods at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, including on the Department’s MSc Economy and Society programme, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate a track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications in sociology, and have a clear, well-developed viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications.
