The role
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic new member to our world-recognised group researching metabolism in Diabetes, Obesity, Cancer and in health. This is a part-time (0.7 FTE) role, offered on a 12-month fixed term basis. The number of hours worked per day can be flexible.
The post-holder will assist with the processing of blood samples from clinical trials, measurement of stable isotope enrichment by mass spectrometry, measurement of metabolites using an automated analyser, equipment maintenance, and general laboratory maintenance. The role will also involve liaising with our collaborators and some data processing.
Day-to-day work will include adhering to standard operating procedures and keeping clear records of all laboratory work. Full training will be given, after which there will be opportunities to help train other laboratory users.
