We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Lecturer (Teaching & Education) to join our School of Social Sciences in this Autumn term, on a part-time (28 hours, 0.8 FTE), fixed-term contract for 21 months. You will contribute to teaching and administration on a range of programmes (e.g. MSc Sustainable Cities, MSc International Development and Social Justice) and undertake scholarly activity in critical geography and/or development studies.
You will have a PhD in Human Geography, Urban Studies, Development Studies or related fields (or close to completion), with teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You should be able to teach on urbanisation and development, with flexibility to teach across the subject area.

Applicants should be committed to excellence in teaching and to meeting the needs of mature students, non-traditional learners, and those studying part time. This opportunity would build on experience as an Associate Lecturer, Postdoctoral Researcher, or Teaching Assistant.
Contract
Fixed-term for 21 months from September 2024 to May 2026, to cover the work of a substantive post holder who is temporarily away from the College but who will return in due course.
This is a part-time role working 28 hours per week with flexible working arrangements, including in-person teaching one or two evenings during term time and occasionally on weekends.

Salary and benefits
The Lecturer grade of the College's London pay scale, which is £33,892 rising to £46,843 per annum - pro rata (0.8 of £42,365 rising to £58,554 per annum FTE).
