About us
The UCL Global Business School for Health (GBSH) at UCL East campus is an innovative business school preparing future healthcare leaders to disrupt and reimagine global health systems. GBSH is dedicated to training and developing the next generation of leaders in the global health economy by building on UCL’s proud tradition of cross-disciplinary academic excellence in education and research.
About the role
This post will support the development of the Health Systems and Policy research theme area at GBSH, with a particular focus on Primary Health Care (PHC). The post holder will work with Professor Kabir Sheikh on the Urban Primary Health Care learning sites project, coordinating a multi-partner collaboration, and co-leading specific workstreams of the project. Additionally, the post holder will work with Professor Sheikh to advance the Health Systems and Policy theme generally at GBSH and across UCL, by writing research manuscripts and collaborative funding proposals, organizing research meetings and seminars, and helping convene the faculty thematic cluster on Health Systems and Policy.
We are particularly interested in someone who brings expertise in health policy and systems research in low- and middle-income countries. Given the interdisciplinary approach to health challenges taken at Global Business School for Health, we would expect the post holder to be able to work across disciplines and engage effectively with diverse health system stakeholders, in responding to important problems confronting health systems at subnational, national and / or global levels. Experience of research and existing partnerships in low- and middle-income countries are a pre-requisite for the role. A post holder at this level will require a good knowledge of existing debates on health systems and policy.
This role is expected to start in October 2024. The role is offered as a full-time contract, funded for 3 years from the date of joining.
