About the role
Are you an experienced Sustainable procurement specialist who is looking for a new challenge? Do you want to play a part in implementing the Sustainable Procurement Strategy and encouraging suppliers and staff to work together to reduce Scope 3 emissions? Can you build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally to support the procurement strategy?
We are seeking to recruit a Sustainable Procurement Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract into our Procurement team. The post role plays a key role in the implementation of our newly approved Sustainable Procurement Policy and Strategy, and will involve working closely with the Procurement Department, College stakeholders and suppliers to develop initiatives and reduce Scope 3 emissions.
What you would be doing
The Sustainable Procurement Manager’s role is part of the Procurement Department within the Finance Division at Imperial that has responsibility for leading and implementing the sustainable procurement strategy and policy across Imperial to ensure we meet our net zero targets by 2040.
You will support the Procurement and Sustainability teams in the realisation of Imperial’s Net Zero 2040 target by leading the delivery of activities within the Sustainable Procurement Strategy and action plan concerning Scope 3 reduction. You will take ownership of the Sustainable Supply Chain Engagement strategy with all our suppliers, starting with the top 500, and drive the inclusion of sustainability requirement with new and renewed supplier contracts.
