This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Change Analyst to fast-track their career development as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate. The successful candidate will undertake a 30-month collaborative project between Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and The University of Salford.
The Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme is a three-way collaborative project between the Associate, GMCA and Salford University. It provides an opportunity for the successful applicant to manage a challenging project central to GMCA’s strategic development and long-term growth.
This post is a role that will lead a unique innovation project aiming to develop, design and pilot a business change toolkit that will embed an Information sharing framework (ISF) across Greater Manchester. This will enable GMCA to catalyse the transition towards more efficient working methods, improving process and information access, and creating sustainable change of practice across the city region.
What will you be doing?
The Associate will design a business change toolkit encouraging the adoption of the ISF among various partners, including the health sector, local authorities, housing, voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sectors. This toolkit will seek to transform risk-averse, siloed organisational cultures into collaborative environments that view information as an asset. They will provide clear "how-to" guidance for organisational leads on implementing practice changes, fostering a culture of confidence in information sharing, and ensuring consistent application of the framework. The Associate will support a regional approach that aligns with national information governance guidelines, offering a straightforward tool for those not specialised in business change or information governance (IG), thus enabling effective collaboration and innovation across the city-region.
Who are we looking for?
Can you communicate successfully across organisations and cultures? Are you a problem solver? Are you someone that understands information/data and its incredible value to the public sector?
We’re looking for someone who wants to make an impact, someone who is personable, motivated and has the appetite to tackle big challenges. Working with stakeholders to understand and respond to their needs will be critical to a successful project. You will be developing tools and mechanisms for sustainable information sharing change.
Ideal candidates will possess a 2.1 minimum degree (BSc) in Business Administration or related subject / equivalent professional experience. Skills in mapping complex organisations, managing projects and the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with a range of people and levels are of central importance. Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for full details.
Additional added benefits
This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on the ways of working across Greater Manchester through improved information sharing, and to be at the forefront of innovative practice. To facilitate professional development the successful candidate will receive extensive practical and formal training and gain valuable experience from their industry and academic mentors. The KTP Associate will also benefit from a Personal Development Budget of £5,000 (over and above their salary) and will have the opportunity to register for a further higher degree MPhil/PhD.
