The Database Administration Team, within the Directorate of Digital & Information Services, is looking to appoint a full-time Senior Database Administrator. Appointment as a Database Administrator is available for those candidates with less experience.
The postholder will be responsible for establishing, securing, supporting, maintaining and administering corporate databases and applications.
Experience of Postgres and MySQL database technologies and cyber security practices is essential. Experience of Oracle, SQL Server is highly desirable. Experience of Microsoft Dynamics CRM is desirable, but not essential. Knowledge of data warehouse and reporting technologies would also be an advantage.
In addition to database administration, you will be required to maintain and support University applications and produce detailed documentation and specifications for solutions to support the University business. The post holder will be required to work on complex projects within a busy team liaising with developers and other database administrators, work closely with other teams within Directorate of Digital & Information Services, and frequently liaise with a wide variety of customers.
The post holder should be educated to degree-level or have other equivalent qualifications and have demonstrable experience of database administration as well as experience of application maintenance and support.
For the Senior Database Administrator role, the salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 7, £45,585 - £54,395 per annum, with placement according to qualifications and experience.
For the Data Administrator role, the salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £37,099 - £44,263 per annum, with placement according to qualifications and experience.
