About this role
UWE is seeking highly skilled and experienced lecturer(s) to join the existing team of theorists, practitioners, and industry experts in our Media Communications programme to teach into existing media culture modules and help develop our exciting undergraduate offer.
The Media Communications programme covers theoretical, practical and industry-based teaching into broad areas of media communications, digital media production, public relations, and campaigns. This role requires experience and expertise in one or more of these areas, with a proven track record of high-quality teaching.

About you
You are a great communicator, able to inspire and support students across their learning journey. Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines with accuracy and rigour, you will be an integral part of a highly motivated team. With relevant teaching and assessment experience across the subject fields of media theory and practice, public relations, and campaigns, you are able to contribute to the smooth delivery of high-quality teaching and learning. You will enhance the student experience through timetabled lectures, seminars, and workshops, as well as providing values-driven pastoral care and guidance to undergraduate students.
You have a deep enthusiasm for pedagogy and student welfare, and willingly contribute to the development of the teaching and learning offer. With a close eye on KPIs and programme goals, you will work with others to develop all areas of the student experience. Ideally, you will have industry experience in public relations and campaigns, and/or some practice-based experience in the creative industries and can bring this experience and research to the existing team.

This is a 12 month, fixed-term post until September 2025 and is part-time working on a 0.5 FTE contract.
