This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

As co-lead of Year 5 you will be responsible for leadership, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of the Year5 MBChB programme within the School of Medicine. You will play an important role in the School of Medicine’s mission to lead the academic and operational sustainability of the Year. This is an exciting time for the MBChB programme with an increased number of students and numerous opportunities for curricular redefined work, including digital transformation. You will contribute to the strategic development of the programme.
Applications are invited from applicants who are substantive NHS consultants or GPs and are established medical educators with experience in leading and delivering undergraduate medical education and leading change. The role has a work load tariff of 0.2 FTE and will work closely with the existing Head of Year 5 as co-leads. The current role will support the delivery of year 5 teaching and assessment and will have a particular focus on secondary care placements.
For candidates already employed by the University of Leeds, this role is available on a workload remission basis. For clinical applicants who do not currently hold a substantive contract of employment with the University, the engagement type and salary arrangements will be discussed at offer stage, with secondment being an option (subject to agreement from your employing organisation). The role will be open to both primary and secondary care clinicians. However, it is essential for applicants who are employees of NHS organisations, that those organisations are affiliated with the University of Leeds.
