As the Scottish Research Cultures Collaboration Manager, you will play a central role in supporting and advancing positive research cultures across Scotland. You will work with Scotland’s Higher Education Institutions to develop a shared vision for research culture and to identify priority areas for collaboration. You will convene and facilitate sector activity, share best practice, and develop new resources. You will also work to influence the development of cross-UK initiatives and act as a visible advocate for positive research cultures.
Initial areas of focus will include reviewing reward and recognition approaches, evaluation of research culture initiatives, and support for research careers. Priority activities will recognise the diversity of the sector, rather than taking a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach.
The Scottish Research Cultures Collaboration Manager is a strategic post hosted by the University of Aberdeen on behalf of the Scottish sector. You will maintain dual reporting lines with the HEI host (University of Aberdeen) and the funder (Scottish Funding Council), and work in collaboration with Universities Scotland’s Researcher Development and Culture Committee (RDCC).
You will have proven experience in bringing people together around a shared vision, strategic coordination (preferably within the research sector), a strong track record of fostering collaboration and innovation, excellent communication and advocacy skills, the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive consensus, and a demonstrated understanding of the UK research landscape and its evolving priorities.
This is a unique opportunity for a strategic thinker to help shape the future of research cultures in Scotland. You will be at the forefront of national initiatives, working with leading institutions and stakeholders to drive positive change.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 8 scale, £57,696 - £64,914 per annum, pro rata and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
