Job description
This is an excellent opportunity to build a research career and be a part of a translational research programme that includes both scientists and clinicians. The post holders will be expected to register towards a higher research degree. You would join a multidisciplinary research programme focused on the investigation of volatile biomarkers in cancer to develop breath tests for disease diagnosis/ monitoring response to chemotherapy and understanding the mechanisms for volatile production and augmentation. The scope of the research will entail clinical trials, organoid and microbiome work, various mass spectrometry analytical techniques and scientific laboratory skills in collaboration with scientists across Imperial College and other universities.

Surgical, gastroenterology and oncology trainees are invited to apply. This is a full-time post for three years started in April or October 2024 with research commitments based at the Hammersmith Campus with some clinical duties.
The College is supportive of flexible working. The Department is happy to discuss the possibility of implementing such arrangements for this post, with suitably qualified people subject to operational arrangements.
