About the role
We have an opportunity for a dedicated and motivated academic to contribute to teaching courses in the areas of Finance in the Bachelor of Business (Major in Finance), taught at the Joint Institute.
Current salary range for Lecturer will be in the range of CNY380,000 to CNY455,000 per year; and for Senior Lecturers will be in the range of CNY465,000 to CNY540,000 dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.

Who are you?
Successful candidates will hold a PhD in Finance, Econometrics or Economics, and have an established publication record and be able to demonstrate experience in teaching to large and small groups of students for whom English is not their first language.
Candidates for the position of Lecturer are expected to demonstrate a developing research profile with at least two or more publications. Candidates for the position of Senior Lecturer are expected to demonstrate an internationally recognised research profile with at least five or more publications (including some in journals that are highly ranked, as evidenced by rankings such as ABDC at the A or A* level) as well as supervision experience and the ability to attract research funding.
Experience working in an international organisation is essential. Knowledge of Chinese culture, experience of teaching across cultures and the ability to work with students for whom English is not their first language are all important requirements.
Who are we?
We are proud of our Joint Institute with Hangzhou City University which is designated as an Institute authorised to deliver NZ (University of Waikato) and Chinese (Ministry of Education) accredited degrees. Currently the Institute offers undergraduate degrees in Media, Design and Finance. All teaching is conducted in English. Into its fifth year of operation, the Institute in Hangzhou has 16 staff and an enrolment of 1,000 students.
The Waikato Management School is a Triple Crown Accredited (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA) business school. It is respected nationally and internationally for its engagement with students and the business community, the high quality of teaching and commitment to research excellence.
