The University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Programmes Officer to join its Widening Participation team. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines programme and event planning with front-line delivery and prospective student support.
You will devise, coordinate and deliver activities, and support with collecting feedback and contribute to continuous improvement of the programmes. You will provide support to prospective students as they undertake the UCAS process, signposting them to relevant services, as needed. You will work with Student Ambassadors, academic colleagues and student support services to ensure a joined-up approach both on the programmes and as participants transition to the University of Nottingham.
As our Widening Participation Programmes Officer, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as keen attention to detail. You will have the ability to deal with sensitive issues in an appropriate manner, collaborating with a network of contacts to resolve them. You will be experienced in delivering presentations, in person and online, and organising events of different scales for varied audiences. Your IT skills will underpin every aspect of the role, allowing you to complete tasks effectively and efficiently, using software tools to automate large aspects of the administration of programmes.
In the Widening Participation team, our outreach work is predominately with groups that are under-represented in higher education, to raise aspirations and remove preconceived barriers to learning. Our team deliver sessions to primary, secondary aged children and mature students to provide insight into University life and show that anyone has the opportunity to continue study after school.
At the University of Nottingham, we aim to give you all the support you need to nurture your talent, develop and reach your professional and personal career goals. We are committed to providing competitive employment packages whilst supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. As a University employee, you will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance and a highly attractive pension scheme.
