East London Sport Talent Pathway Seeks Additional Project Officer to Spearhead Innovative Sports Programs
Are you passionate about transforming lives through sport and have experience working with young athletes, particularly from diverse backgrounds? The East London Sport Talent Pathway (ELSTP), funded by Sport England and based at the University of East London, is looking for a Project Officer to join our innovative team. This role is crucial as we enter the exciting second phase of our development, with a particular focus on enhancing support for female athletes.
In this role, you will lead pivotal projects including the Women and Girls initiative, aimed at enhancing support for our female athletes and their families. Your efforts will be key in driving these initiatives forward, especially as we prepare for a strategic rebranding of the ELSTP. Collaboration with our marketing team will be essential to leverage platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter to maximise our outreach and impact, ensuring our message resonates across the vibrant, diverse community of East London.
This is a particularly thrilling time to join us as we embark on expanding our reach and deepening our impact. Under our ambitious strategy, we aim to increase representation from culturally diverse and less advantaged backgrounds in national sports pathways, truly embodying our mission to transform potential into success. Your challenge will be to develop and implement a unique, ground-breaking talent identification and development programme that not only supports athletes on the field but also ensures their holistic development.
Your role will involve organising and managing athlete experience days and educational workshops, focusing on a comprehensive pastoral and inclusive approach to athlete development. You will also manage collaborations with local schools and community groups, fostering an environment that supports our athletes comprehensively.
We are looking for someone with a robust background in sports management, who is skilled in negotiating, planning, and delivering innovative work, and managing effective teams and operational performance. The ideal candidate will be great at responding to different needs to ensure all can achieve their best, accustomed to working with voluntary and/or statutory agencies, and adept at coaching, mentoring, and supporting others in their personal and professional development.
Joining the East London Sport Talent Pathway means becoming part of a dedicated team that values innovation and is committed to making a significant, lasting impact on the sporting landscape and the lives of young athletes. If you're ready to lead, inspire, and make a real difference, we encourage you to apply.
If this exciting challenge resonates with you and you are keen to contribute to a pioneering effort that redefines talent development in sports, we invite you to apply. At the East London Sport Talent Pathway, you will find a welcoming environment, genuine camaraderie, and the opportunity to make a substantial impact on both the community and the future of young athletes in East London.
CVs without a completed application form will not be accepted.
At UEL we are committed to working together to build a community which values diversity in both our staff and student populations, is representative and inclusive, enabling all to progress and thrive.
