The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences (SRES) is a dynamic school that provides an opportunity to work collaboratively across the sciences of exercise, performance, health, and rehabilitation.
The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences (SRES) was created in August 2017 bringing together a diverse community of academics. SRES offer a wide range of courses to our students with a blend of experiential learning. SRES is recognised across the world for taking excellence in education and research equally seriously. We deliver courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, on subjects such as sports and exercise sciences and psychology, physiotherapy, sports therapy, and sports performance. The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences was created in August 2017 bringing together Sport and Exercise Sciences, Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, and related activity. SRES also presents exciting opportunities for new interdisciplinary collaborations and partnerships working within the University and with external agencies including a range of health practitioners.
Duties of the Role
The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences (SRES) is recruiting a Practice Educator in Sports Therapy to contribute to our undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. The main purpose of the role is to provide appropriate clinical supervision, management, and education for students undertaking Sports Therapy placements. As well as supervising students and managing external placement opportunities, the successful candidate will manage appointments and client records of the Sports Therapy Clinic and provide support to performance and focus sports scholars at the University. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the delivery of the practical elements of the programme, particularly those related to the placement module. The post may also be involved in teaching across Sports Therapy modules or as requested by the Head of School. The successful candidate will also have opportunities for leadership/citizenship within the School and University.
Qualifications and Skills required
The successful candidate will have a relevant Bachelors degree in an appropriate subject and must be a member of The Society of Sports Therapists or an equivalent professional body. In addition, you should have applied clinical experience in either a team or clinic setting. Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate is also essential to this post.
