The Role
This is an exciting and rewarding role at an ambitious, leading London university, which is well known for its progressive approach to education.

You will be responsible for managing our health and safety management systems and promoting a safe and secure workplace. You will be a persuasive communicator who will develop and maintain our health and safety standards and policies; provide advice and guidance on statutory requirements, legislation and regulations; and proactively promote best practice. You will also prepare and present reports and design and deliver effective health and safety training.
The Person
We are seeking a Head of Health and Safety and Security Strategy who is committed to helping us deliver our Values of inclusivity, innovation; ambition; and enterprise.
You will be an experienced health and safety professional, with the technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to deliver effective health and safety across our four campuses. You will be proactive and enthusiastic, with the ability to maintain effective working relationships whilst ensuring compliance.
You will be a Chartered member of IOSH or equivalent and will have experience of UK health and safety best practice and legislation along with relevant practical experience in managing health and safety in the workplace.
Directorate/Function
Reporting to the University Secretary, who is a member of the University’s Senior Leadership Team, this role resides within the Directorate for Corporate Services, which is responsible for the delivery of several key compliance and support services across the University. This currently comprises teams that lead on Governance and Compliance; Information Governance; Legal Services; Brand, Communications and Public Affairs; Health, Safety and Security Strategy; Risk, Business Continuity and Insurance; and Executive Support.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary of £58,687.00 per annum.
