Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: De Havilland Campus, Hatfield, University of Hertfordshire 

Main duties and responsibilities

We are recruiting for a Project Officer and Executive Assistant to the Director of Research and Enterprise Services. The post holder will undertake a range of key activities such as diary management, meeting servicing, and general administrative tasks, as well as taking decisions and actions on behalf of the Director. You will plan workloads, support the implementation of new processes, manage diary commitments and deal with correspondence relating to the Director’s responsibilities in the leadership and management of the newly formed Research and Enterprise Services Dept (RES). This will involve working closely with senior managers across and outside the University, including government agencies, sector bodies and external contacts. You will also draft reports on behalf of RES, initiate responses or respond to correspondence to personal and telephone enquiries from staff at all levels and senior external contacts. 

Skills and experience required

You will have evidence of prior experience in clerking, servicing meetings and committees at the highest level of an organisation and significant experience in a range of administrative roles supporting executive level managers. Extensive administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels is essential. The successful candidate should be able to evidence recent project management experience and contributions to large scale/complex projects. You will be a professional self-starter wo can use their own initiative and have excellent communication skills (written format and oral communication skills) and interpersonal skills as well as excellent organisation, planning and administrative skills, with close attention to detail.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent, or substantial proven experience.
