Finance Officer

Location: Department of Education, 15 Norham Gardens, Oxford, OX2 6PY 

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Finance Officer to join our dynamic team. 

The Finance Officer will contribute to the day to day running of the Finance Office, with guidance and direction from the Finance Manager. You will be responsible for specific aspects of the management of the department’s financial and research administration, including the administration of government funded bursaries and the associated audit requirements. You will ensure that all activities adhere to the University’s financial and personnel regulations and statutory legislation as appropriate. In addition, the Finance Officer is expected to be involved in ad-hoc project work where financial input is a key component. 

You will either hold or be working towards AAT (or equivalent) or have significant relevant experience in Financial Administration. You will have proven knowledge of financial management systems and have experience of being able to interpret complicated financial concepts and explaining them to people without a financial background. It is crucial that you are able to work independently with a proactive and flexible approach.
