About the Role
For informal enquiries, please contact Richard Stark (Bioinformatics RTP Manager) at r.stark@warwick.ac.uk.
The University of Warwick Bioinformatics Research Technology Platform (RTP) offers advice and assistance with all aspects of Computational Biology from a small team of Bioinformatics specialists. The RTP service is available to all researchers, from within the university as well as other institutions and industry. To cover increasing demand and bolster the skill set within the team, we are looking to recruit a Bioinformatics Analyst with established expertise in biomedical data management, analysis and visualisation.
The role will involve working closely with academic and industrial partners on a range of data types and scientific questions, particularly with high-throughput nucleotide sequencing technologies. Applicants will be confident in programming in a UNIX environment and have experience with using high-capacity computing clusters and version control systems to ensure high quality, repeatable and sharable analysis pipelines. They will have a track record of working with researchers to provide clear biological interpretations of their results and producing figures and text for publication. They should also have experience in providing training and assistance in bioinformatics or computer science.
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
About You
This is an exciting opportunity to further develop skills in these areas as part of a highly experienced team of Bioinformaticians with access to projects involving a variety of different data sources and biological/medical backgrounds.
