The role involves developing strong relationships with the University’s researchers; with industrial, commercial and social enterprise partners and with investors, sponsors and the charity sector to help take the University’s intellectual property into use in society. Supported by an experienced Business Development Manager, you will develop and manage a portfolio of projects, with responsibility for driving the knowledge exchange and translational aspects, based on research outcomes within humanities, arts and social sciences- (HASS) departments at the University of Warwick. Your activities will include: engagement with the Warwick HASS researcher community; project-based knowledge exchange and innovation assessment; translational support; IP protection; marketing to external partners; negotiation of licensing deals / partnerships; spinout company development. The post holder will be supported in the development of all the skills necessary to move to a more senior role.
About You
The successful candidate will have technical and commercial knowledge and experience in delivering impact from HASS research outcomes through commercialisation. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual as it is the first full-time post within Warwick Innovations focused on supporting the Warwick HASS research community. You will need to be a self-starter, be organised and able to prioritise your work to manage a portfolio of projects you develop. Your abilities to engage with HASS researchers and to work alongside other Warwick research support colleagues will be key to success in this role.
