The Post
We seek to appoint two suitably qualified and experienced postdoctoral research fellows to work with Professor Paul Cairney on the Horizon Europe project WAGE (Healthy working environments for all ages: An evidence-driven framework).
Our work package uses policy theory insights to foster the uptake of research evidence in policymaking. The successful candidates will work with Cairney to (1) provide a detailed report on all relevant policy instruments and who would be responsible for their design and delivery, (2) design an engagement report based on our map of the policy system, and (3) contribute to the engagement strategies of a wider ‘cluster’ of Horizon projects (WISEWORK-C). As such, political science researchers of multi-level policy and policymaking would be particularly relevant, but we also welcome applications from interdisciplinary researchers on the role of evidence in policy.
The successful candidates will be based in Stirling, but also part of a larger team across Europe, contributing to interdisciplinary research and teaching with real world impact. The language of Stirling-based research (and the Horizon reports) is English. Proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish, and Polish languages would be welcome (but not essential) to help conduct research directly with partner organisations.
