The vacancy
DN Colleges have an exciting opportunity for a qualified electrician within our expanding engineering team for the role of Electrical Installation Trainer/Assessor. The purpose of this role is to pass on your skills and experience to the next generation of electricians by training and assessment of an assigned caseload of apprentices, facilitating other learning when required and ensuring the students health, safety and wellbeing.
Although teaching or assessing qualifications are beneficial, DN Colleges have an excellent support package of training that continually helps those interested in moving from industry into a new career of education.
As a Trainer/Assessor, you will build a strong working relationship with employers and apprentices, continuously expand your network both internally and externally. You may support your curriculum team with workshop-based and some classroom teaching where required, visiting apprentices in their workplace to carry out assessments and progress reviews.
The successful candidate will be qualified in Electrical Installation ideally through an apprenticeship. You will also have GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English, with 18th Edition wiring regulations or working toward with the first 12 months.
